How to Perform Ganesh Chaturthi Puja at Home

Start Ganesh Chaturthi Puja by bringing Lord Ganesha’s idol home. You can bring an eco-friendly idol of Lord Ganesha this year.

Before bringing the idol, keep incense sticks, dhoop, aarti thali, betel nut, betel leaf, and a red cloth to cover Ganesha’s idol ready in advance.

Once you have the idol, ask one of your family members to bring a bowl of rice.

Before bringing the idol inside, sprinkle rice on it. Also, before placing the idol at its spot, place some raw rice, a betel nut, turmeric, vermilion, and dakshina.

Ganesha Chaturthi Puja – Bring the Idol Home

Before installing Lord Ganesha’s idol at home, bring materials like red flowers, durva grass, modaks, coconut, red sandalwood, dhoop, and incense sticks.
Begin the puja by lighting the incense and dhoop placed on the aarti thali. Then, place a betel leaf and a betel nut on the floor in front of the sandalwood, and chant the mantra “Om Gan Ganapataye Namah.”
Clean the place where you want to install Lord Ganesha’s idol and prepare a raised platform or chowki. Chant mantras to invite the deity and place a clean cloth on the platform, then place the idol of Lord Ganesha on it.
After that, offer 21 blades of durva grass, modaks, and red flowers to Lord Ganesha. Apply a red sandalwood tilak on Lord Ganesha’s forehead, offer a coconut, break it, and distribute it later as prasad.
