Saphala Ekadashi 2025 Vrat Katha

The story of Saphala Ekadashi connects to King Mahishmat. Mahishmat ruled the kingdom of Champavati. The king had a son named Lumbhak, who remained trapped in bad habits. Because of this, the king expelled his son from the kingdom. After being expelled, Lumbhak began living in the forest. He survived by eating fruits. After some time, his behavior began to change positively.

On the Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Pausha, he remained hungry all day and remembered Lord Vishnu in the evening. In this way, Lumbhak observed the Ekadashi fast unknowingly. The merit of this fast removed the effect of all his sins. When King Mahishmat learned about Lumbhak’s changed behavior, the king called his son back to the palace. The merit of the Ekadashi fast changed Lumbhak’s life, and he received back his honor and his kingdom.
