Shani Amavasya 2025 – Worship Shani Dev and Offer Tarpan to Ancestors

Wake up early in the morning and take a bath in a holy river or bathe at home by adding Ganga water.
Take a vow to observe the Shani Amavasya fast after bathing.
Visit Shani Dev’s temple and offer mustard oil, black sesame seeds, iron nails, urad dal, and blue flowers to His idol.
Chant the mantra ‘Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah’ 108 times. You can also recite Shani Chalisa and Shani Stotra.

Perform Special Charity on This Day

Charity holds immense importance on Shani Amavasya. Offering donations according to one’s capacity pleases Lord Shani:
Donate mustard oil, black sesame seeds, black clothes, black gram, or urad dal.
Donate iron utensils, tongs, or any other iron item.
Feed the poor and needy or donate clothes to them.

Light a mustard oil lamp under a Peepal tree and chant the mantra ‘Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya’. Pour water on the Peepal tree and circumambulate it seven times.
