Significance of Varalakshmi Vrat

The name “Varalakshmi” is derived from two words: ‘Vara’ meaning boon or blessing and ‘Lakshmi’ referring to the Goddess of wealth and fortune. According to belief, worshipping Goddess Varalakshmi on this day grants the same merit as worshipping the eight forms of Lakshmi (Ashtalakshmi) – Wealth, Earth, Wisdom, Love, Fame, Peace, Contentment, and Strength.

Women observe this vrat to seek blessings for the prosperity of their family, long life and good health of their husbands and children. This sacred observance brings joy, harmony, and abundance into the home.
