Prayagraj Mahakumbh
Prayag means confluence and Raj means king. Prayagraj's Triveni Sangam holds the highest significance in Hinduism. Here, the confluence of three most sacred rivers takes place—Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati. This is a very rare confluence. In the Padma Purana, this place is referred to as the one that grants liberation (moksha). According to mythological stories, anyone who performs Tarpan (ritual for ancestors) and Shraddh (ancestral rituals) at this place will have their ancestors satisfied, and they will bless the person with happiness and good fortune throughout their life. Among all the pilgrimage waters, the water of Prayagraj is considered the most superior. Performing Tarpan for ancestors with this water is regarded as the best. Currently, during the auspicious occasion of the Maha Kumbh, Prayagraj is the most effective place for performing ancestral Tarpan rituals that yield quick results.
