Chandi Devi Temple: The Hilltop Guardian

Located on the Neel Parvat on the opposite bank of the Ganga, Chandi Devi Temple is a Siddh Peeth dedicated to Goddess Chandi. Legend says the Goddess rested here after killing the demons Chanda and Munda.

  • Ancient Idol: The main idol is believed to have been established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century.
  • Navratra Mela: During Navratra, thousands flock here as it is believed the Goddess is most active during this time.

  • Access: Accessible via a 3 km trek from Chandighat or the Ropeway (Cable Car).
