First Day of Diwali 2025 – Dhanteras
The Panch Parva of Diwali 2025 will begin with Dhanteras. On this day, devotees celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Dhanvantari. However, today this festival is also known for shopping. On this day, people perform special worship of Lord Kuber. In 2025, Dhanteras will be celebrated on Saturday, 18 October, during the Krishna Paksha Trayodashi of Kartik month. On this day, Pradosh Vrat will also be observed, and Shani Pradosh holds special significance. The auspicious time for Dhanteras puja will remain from 07:16 PM to 08:20 PM. Devotees worship Lord Kuber along with Lord Dhanvantari to maintain prosperity and health throughout the year. It is believed that items purchased on Dhanteras bring good fortune.
Narak Chaturdashi
The second day of Diwali Panch Parva is Narak Chaturdashi, which people also call Chhoti Diwali. In many places, devotees celebrate this festival as Hanuman Jayanti. Some beliefs say that on this day at midnight, Lord Hanuman was born from the womb of Mother Anjana. According to Hindu tradition, lighting a four-faced lamp at the main entrance on this day grants liberation from hell. Diwali 2025
Diwali 2025, also called Deepavali, is mainly the grand festival of lights. This festival also signifies the victory of light over darkness in life. Devotees perform special puja of Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, along with Lord Ganesha. According to belief, Lord Rama also returned to Ayodhya on this day after completing 14 years of exile. On this day, devotees also worship Goddess Kali and Lord Kuber. In 2025, the sacred festival of Diwali will be observed on Monday, 20 October. The auspicious time for Lakshmi Puja will remain from 07:08 PM to 08:18 PM. Although Amavasya will remain until the afternoon of 21 October, Diwali will be celebrated on 20 October because Lakshmi Puja holds importance during Pradosh Kaal.
Govardhan Puja 2025
After Diwali, Govardhan Puja will be celebrated on Wednesday, 22 October 2025. This festival is observed on the Pratipada tithi. In many places, people also call it Annakut festival. On this day, devotees prepare a Govardhan mountain shape with cow dung and perform special worship. The auspicious time for Govardhan Puja will remain from 06:26 AM to 08:42 AM in the morning, and from 03:29 PM to 05:44 PM in the afternoon.
Bhai Dooj 2025
The last day of Diwali 2025 Panch Parva is Bhai Dooj. On this day, sisters apply tilak on their brothers and pray for their success and prosperity. This festival connects with the love and bond between brothers and sisters. In 2025, Bhai Dooj will be celebrated on Thursday, 23 October. The auspicious time for applying tilak on this day will remain from 01:13 PM to 03:28 PM. Taking a holy bath in the Yamuna River on this day holds great religious significance.
