- On the day before Ekadashi, i.e., Dashami Tithi, have a single meal in the afternoon. Do not eat at night and resolve to fast.
- On Ekadashi, wake up early in the morning and perform the fast with a pure heart.
- After resolving to fast, worship Lord Krishna, offering incense, light, and food offerings.
- On the night of Ekadashi, keep vigil and perform Krishna Puja.
- After the Ekadashi day ends and before the Dwadasi (12th day), serve or donate to the needy, or perform a ritual.
- After the fast, break your fast with food at the auspicious time (Paaran).
