Maa Annapurna Mandir: The Goddess of Food

Situated adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Maa Annapurna Mandir is dedicated to the Goddess of Food. It is believed that in Kashi, no one goes to sleep hungry because of her grace. Lord Shiva himself begs for alms from her to feed the world.

Significance: The Golden Ladle

• The Golden Idol: The temple houses a golden idol of Maa Annapurna, which is opened for public Darshan only once a year during Annakut (after Diwali).
• Free Kitchen: The temple runs a massive Annakshetra (kitchen) where free food is served to devotees daily.
