According to the sunrise calendar, the Ekadashi fast will be observed on 1 December 2025. On this day, Panchak ends at 11:18 PM, making it an ideal time for completing the fast and rituals.

Offer yellow flowers, Panchamrit, fruits, bananas, yellow sweets, and Tulsi leaves to Lord Vishnu.

Mokshada Ekadashi Story

King Vaikhanas of Gokul, who ruled his kingdom with devotion and cared for his people, had learned Brahmins of the four Vedas in his realm. One night, he dreamt that his father suffered in hell, pleading for liberation. Disturbed by this vision, the king consulted the Brahmins, and they advised him to visit Sage Parvat’s hermitage, who mastered the past, present, and future. The sage revealed that the king’s father had committed sins in a past life, which caused his suffering in hell, and instructed the king to observe the Margashirsha Ekadashi fast and dedicate its merit to his father.

Following the sage’s guidance, the king and his family observed Mokshada Ekadashi and dedicated its merit to his father. The king’s actions liberated his father from hell, allowing him to ascend to heaven and bless his son. Therefore, devotees consider the Shukla Paksha Ekadashi in Margashirsha highly auspicious. Observing this fast destroys sins, grants liberation, and ranks among the most meritorious fasts.
