Shri Banke Bihari Mandir: The Child Krishna
December 12, 2025 Friday
Shri Banke Bihari Mandir is the holiest and most famous temple in Vrindavan. The idol of Krishna here stands in the "Tribhanga" posture (bent in three places). Unlike other temples, the curtains before the deity are pulled shut every few minutes to prevent the Lord from getting charmed by the devotion of his bhakts.
The crowds here can be overwhelming. Use the Trilok App for safety tips and live crowd updates.
Significance: No Bells
- Unique Tradition: There are no bells in this temple because it is believed that the Lord is a small child and the noise might disturb him.
- The Idol: The idol was originally worshipped by the famous musician-saint Swami Haridas.
