Sita Kund: The Sands of Devotion

Sita Kund is located on the opposite bank of the Falgu River. It is the sacred spot where Goddess Sita performed Pind Daan for her father-in-law, King Dashrath, using sand (balu) because she had no other materials.

Significance: The Curse

  • Sand Pind: Sita Mata offered a Pind made of sand. To this day, devotees offer sand balls here.
  • The Witness: Sita cursed the Falgu river to flow underground for lying about her offering.

  • Address: Opposite Vishnupad Temple, across the river.
  • Access: You can walk across the dry river bed or take the bridge.
